In this workshop we will examine data - the evidence of learning - available in visual arts, media arts, dance, and music classrooms. We'll start by understanding a basic data cycle and then use the data cycle as Professional Learning Communities to explore four case studies:
- The power of pre- and post-assessment
- Going deeper with disaggregated data
- Taking time to do an item analysis
- Measuring growth in artistic processes: creating, performing, and responding
Leave with confidence to apply these processes in your own arts classroom to measure student growth as a component of teacher evaluation, or simply to help students learn more!
Registration includes materials and morning and afternoon snacks. One hour is planned for lunch on your own.
